Jimmy Stewart is a Republican member of the Ohio State Senate. Stewart worked as an Athens City Auditor and a member of Athens City Council. He served in the Ohio State House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008. He joined the Ohio State Senate in 2008. He has served in that position since, representing the 20th district and currently serving as State Senate Majority Floor Leader.

Stewart worked as an Equipment Salesman for Caterpillar Equipment. He has also worked as Auditor for Athens City. He is currently a Legislator.

Stewart earned his BBA from Marshall University. He went on to receive his MBA from Xavier University.

In a February 18, 2011 interview with The Columbus Dispatch, Seitz voiced concerns about the controversial collective bargaining bill, stating that he is seeking middle ground with labor and is unsure whether he will support the bill.[1]
