JoNell Bakke is a 2014 Democratic-NPL candidate for District 43 of the North Dakota State Senate.

She is a former Democratic member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 43 from 2006 to 2010.


Bakke earned her B.S. and M.A. in Elementary and Special Education from the University of North Dakota. Bakke is a Special Education Teacher.[1]

The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 7, 2014. Incumbent Lonnie Laffen was unopposed in the Republican primary, while JoNell Bakke was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Bakke and Laffen will face off in the general election.[2][3]
