Ballweg is a member of the Management Committee for Agnesian HealthCare Enterprises, Limited Liability Company. She has also been involved with Markesan District Schools, Markesan Chamber of Commerce, Citizen School Building Committee, Markesan Parent Teacher Association, and the Women's Council. She also served as Mayor of the City of Markesan from 1991-1997 and on the Markesan Council from 1987-1991.[1]
