Joan Millman (b. June 20, 1940) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. She has represented District 52 since winning a special election in February 1997. Millman is also presently a member of the Major Steering Committee, New York State Assembly and a member of Independent Neighborhood Democratic Club. Her other political experiences include chairperson of Kings County Democratic Committee and state committeewoman and democratic district leader of the 52nd Assembly District.

Millman's professional experiences include facilitator; elementary school teacher; school librarian; and educational consultant.

Millman earned her BA from Brooklyn College, MS in library science from Pratt Institute; and professional diploma from Long Island University.[1]

On November 4, 2008 Millman won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 52, defeating opponent Pedro Monge (R).
