Joey Hood is a Republican member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 35. He was first elected to the chamber in 2011.


Hood earned his B.A. in political science and history from Mississippi State University, and law degree from the Mississippi College School of Law. His professional experience includes working as an attorney in private practice in Ackerman, a staffer for former U.S. Senator Trent Lott (R-MS), and a clerk for the Mississippi Court of Appeals.[1]

On November 8, 2011, Hood won election to District 35 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He defeated J. Shannon Crow in the primary on August 2, 2011.[2] Hood was unchallenged in the November 8 general election. [3]
