John Brenden is a Republican member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 18 since 2009.

Brenden earned his BA in Political Science/Philosophy from Concordia College in 1963. He also attended the University of Montana in 1963. He attended Graduate Studies at Adams State College from 1963 to 1964 and at Pacific Lutheran University from 1964 to 1965.

Brenden was owner/operator of Scobey/Plentywood/Sidney/Williston from 1968 to 1988. He is currently owner/operator of Brenden Farms in Scobey, Montana. He is also a Real Estate Agent.

Brenden was Chairman of the Montana Republican Party from 1983 to 1987. He was a Montana Council Member for the Governor's Office on the Northwest Power Planning Council from 1989 to 1993. He previously served in the Montana State Senate from 1993 to 1995.

Brenden won re-election in the 2012 election for Montana State Senate, District 47. Brenden ran unopposed in the June 5 primary election and defeated Julie E. French (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
