John Ceretto (b. May 12, 1952) is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 138 since 2011.

Prior to his political career, Ceretto worked as a substitute teacher and then for the Tulip Corporation. He was elected to the Lewiston Town Board in 1995. Then in 2005, he was elected to the Niagara County Legislature where he was chairman of the Niagara County Refuse Department and vice-chairman of the Niagara County Economic Development Committee.

He earned his B.A. and his M.A. in Education and Administration from Niagara University. He and his wife Beth live in Lewiston with their four children.

Ceretto is running in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 145. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He is also running on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Robert M. Restaino ran unopposed in the Democratic primary; he is also running on the Working Families Party ticket. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]

Ceretto was uncontested in the September 14 Republican primary. Ceretto defeated John Accardo (D) and Francine DelMonte (WF) in the general election on November 2.[3] Although incumbent Delmonte lost in the Democratic primary, she secured the nomination of the Working Families Party.
