John A. DeFrancisco (b. October 16, 1946) is a Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 50. He was first elected to the chamber in 1993.

DeFrancisco was a member of the City of Syracuse Board of Education from 1978 to 1981 and the boards President from 1980 to 1981. He was then Councilor-at-Large for the Syracuse Common Council from 1982 to 1989. From 1990 to 1992 he was President of the Syracuse Common Council.

DeFrancisco ran in the 2012 election for New York State Senate District 50. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012; he also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. DeFrancisco defeated Michael Donnelly (G) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
