John G. Edwards (b. April 7, 1958) is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 70. In 2009, he joined the Rhode Island House.

Edwards earned his BS in Political Science from Northeastern University in 1983.

From 1989 to 1998, Edwards worked as Superintendent of J.G. Edwards Construction Company. He then worked for O. Ahlborg and Sons as a Project Manager from 1998 to 2000. He also worked as Senior Project Manager for Hodess Building Company from 2000 to 2003, and for Cutler Associates from 2003 to 2006. He has worked for Advanced Building Concepts as Operations Manager since 2006.

Edwards was a candidate for the Rhode Island House of Representatives in 2004 but was not elected. He has also served as Councilman for the Town of Tiverton since 2006.

Edwards won re-election in District 70. He was unopposed in the September 11 Democratic primary and defeated John Perkins Jr. (I) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Edwards won re-election to the 70th District Seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary and defeated Republican Nancy Driggs in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2][3]
