Graf is currently the Director of Development for The Resource Center of Somerset, Hillsborough, NJ. He serves as the chief fundraising official and community affairs officer for the non-profit agency dealing with domestic violence and abuse in Somerset County. He has worked at The Resource Center since November 2009. Graf is also a minister, and operates Ceremonial Weddings, Inc., through which he has performed non-denominational weddings, baptisms, funerals and memorial services throughout the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area since 1997. Prior to joining the ministry, Graf led a 25-year career in public relations, fund-raising and volunteer work. He is the retired CEO of Somerset County United Way.
Graf earned an Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science from Rowan University in 1976. Graf is also a 1981 graduate of The American University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts Administration.

Graf was defeated in the 2011 election for New Jersey Senate District 23. He ran unopposed in the primary on June 7, 2011. Graf was defeated by Republican incumbent Michael Doherty (R) in the general election which took place on November 8, 2011.
