John Albert Kitzhaber (b. March 5, 1947) is a medical educator and former Governor of Oregon. His also a former practicing physician. He graduated from South Eugene High School in 1965, Dartmouth College in 1969, and Oregon Health & Science University with a medical degree in 1973. In September of 2009 Kitzhaber announced his candidacy in the 2010 Oregon Gubernatorial election[1].
