John kuempel is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives. Kuempel was elected to represent District 44 on November 2, 2010.


John received a Bachelor′s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He was born and raised in Seguin and was one of the Top-Ten graduates of Seguin High School. He was active in high school sports, playing football and baseball before becoming a walk-on member of the University of Texas football team.

Empower Texans produces the Fiscal Responsibility Index as "a measurement of how lawmakers perform on size and role of government issues." The index uses "exemplar votes on core budget and free enterprise issues that demonstrate legislators' governing philosophy."[4] Legislators are graded along a standard grading scale, receiving grades A through F based on their performance during the legislative session.
