John F. McKeon (b. June 3, 1958) is a Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 27th District since 2002. He served as a Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from 2010-2011 and Majority Whip from 2008-2009.

McKeon graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1980 and earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1983. He works as an attorney and partner with the firm of Hardin, Kundla, McKeon, Poletto and Polifroni. He is also the mayor of the Township of West Orange, a position he has held since 1998.[1]

  • A1626 Requires affordable housing be built to green building standards; requires Commissioner of Community Affairs to issue standards.

McKeon ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 27. McKeon is bracketed with Mila Jasey. He was unopposed in the June 4 Democratic primary. He is challenged by Angelo Tedesco (R) and Laura M. Ali (R) in the general election which takes place on November 5, 2013.[3][4]

McKeon won re-election in 2011. He and incumbent Mila Jasey were bracketed together and defeated Ellen Steinberg in the Democratic Primary on June 7. They then defeated Lee Holtzman and Nicole Hagner in the November 8 general election.[5]
