Nugent ran in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 82. He was unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and was defeated by incumbent Kevin Daley (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]


He was a Democratic candidate for District 25 in the Michigan State Senate in the November 2, 2010 state legislative elections.
