John P. Burnett is a former Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He represented District 40 from 2003 to 2011.

Burnett is an attorney. He is a Vietnam veteran and earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law, BA in Political Science from University of Missouri - Kansas City, and AA in Liberal Arts from Penn Valley Community College.

Burnett is a member of Helping Hands of Goodwill Board of Directors, Holy Cross School Board, Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Saint Mary's High School, and Vietnam Veterans of America. He is married and has 3 children.[1]
