John Piotti was a Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives. He represented the 45th District from 2002-2010 and was Majority Floor Leader. He was term-limited in 2010, so he ran for Maine State Senate, losing to Michael Thibodeau (R).

Piotti works for Coastal Enterprises, Incorporated. He has previously been an independent zconsultant, Director of the Maine Farms Project, and a Trustee/Board Treasurer at Unity College.

Piotti has served as President of the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments, Vice President of Maine Farmland Trust, a Parishioner at Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church, Volunteer Executive Director for Unity Barn Raisers, and Chair of the Unity College Board of Trustees.[1]

Piotti ran for the Maine State Senate, District 23. He was defeated by Republican candidate Michael Thibodeau in the November 2 general election. Republican incumbent Carol Weston was not eligible for re-election.[2]

In the June 8th primary election, Piotti ran unopposed.[3]
