John Sapien is a Democratic member of the New Mexico Senate.

Sapien is currently President of the Bernalillo Public Schools Foundation. He joined the New Mexico State Senate in 2009 and has served in that position since. He represents the 9th district.

Sapien was an intern for the Office of United States Senator Jeff Bingaman. He has been owner/agent of State Farm Insurance Agency since 1992.

Sapien earned his BBA in Finance from the University of New Mexico.

On November 4, 2008, Sapien was elected to the 9th District Seat in the New Mexico Senate, besting Steve Komadina (R). [1] Sapien raised $78,603 for his campaign, while Komadina raised $164,351. [2]
