John Sapien is a Democratic member of the New Mexico Senate.

Sapien is currently President of the Bernalillo Public Schools Foundation. He joined the New Mexico State Senate in 2009 and has served in that position since. He represents the 9th district.

Sapien was an intern for the Office of United States Senator Jeff Bingaman. He has been owner/agent of State Farm Insurance Agency since 1992.

Sapien earned his BBA in Finance from the University of New Mexico.

Sapien won re-election in the [[State legislative elections, 2012|2012 election]. He ran and won against Benjamin Hayden Rodefer in the June 5, 2012 Democratic primary. He defeated David L. Doyle in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
