John C. Watkins (b. March 1, 1947) is a Republican member of the Virginia State Senate, representing District 10. He was first elected to the chamber in 1997.


Watkins attended and received a B.S. in Horticulture at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Watkins served in the military from 1970 to 1971 and in the House of Delegates from 1982-98. Watkins has worked as a manager for Watkins Land, LLC.

On November 8, 2011, Watkins won re-election to District 10 of the Virginia State Senate. He was unchallenged in the August 23 primary and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[1]
