John Wood, Jr. (b. January 13, 1936) is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He has represented District 29A since January 14, 1987.

Wood is a Partner with Cross and Wood Insurance Brokers. He served as Owner and Operator of Wood's Food Rite from 1962-1993, and was a Sergeant in the Maryland National Guard.

Wood is Chair of the Southern Maryland Delegation, and a member of the Maryland Veterans Caucus, Blue Crab Task Force, Maryland Taxpayers Protection Caucus, Maryland Rural Caucus, Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, Chesapeake Bay Commission, and Historic Saint Mary's City Commission.[1]
