John Zunic was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 40 of the New Jersey State Senate. Zunic was also a candidate for the 40th State Senate District in 2007.

Zunic serves as the municipal prosecutor for the Borough of Fairview. He was elected to his first term on the Council in 2009.

Zunic was defeated in the 2011 election for New Jersey Senate District 40. He ran unopposed in the primary on June 7, 2011. Zunic was defeated by Republican incumbent Kevin O'Toole in the general election which took place on November 8, 2011. [1]
