Johnny Joannou is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 79 from 1976-83, and currently since 1998. He also served in the Virginia State Senate from 1984-1991.

Joannou is an attorney with the firm of Joannou, Knowles & Associates.[1] He earned his B.S. in public administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1962 and his L.L.B. from T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond in 1969.
