Jose Campos, II was a Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives. He represented the 63rd District from 2003-2010.

Campos ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic lieutenant gubernatorial nomination in the 2010 primary election.

Campos is considered a potential 2014 Democratic challenger to incumbent 2nd district Rep. Steve Pearce. Pearce is currently the only Republican official representing New Mexico in either chamber of the U.S. Congress.[1]

Campos ran for re-election to the 63rd District Seat in 2010. He is opposed by George Dodge Jr. in the primary election. The winner was challenged by Melinda Joy Russ in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.


On November 4, 2008, Campos was re-elected to the 63rd District Seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives, besting Matthew Rush (R). [2] Campos raised $37,101 for his campaign, while Rush raised $49,878. [3]
