Joseph Cryan (September 1, 1961) is a Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing District 20. He was first elected to the chamber in 2001. He previously served as Majority Leader.

Biography

Cryan earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College in 1983. His professional experience includes working Undersheriff for the Union County Sheriff’s Office, as manager/owner of Cryan's Restaurant and operation's manager for ITT Avionics.[1]

Cryan won re-election in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 20. Cryan was bracketed with Annette Quijano. He was unopposed in the June 4 Democratic primary. He and incumbent Annette Quijano (D) defeated Charles Donnelly (R) and Christopher Hackett (R) in the general election which took place on November 5, 2013.[3] [4][5]

Cryan won re-election for District 20 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Cryan and fellow incumbent Annette Quijano ran bracketed together and defeated Tony Monteiro and Carlos Cedeno in the June 7 Democratic Primary. They then defeated John Donoso in the November 8 general election.[6]
