Joseph Rosario DeMare was a 2012 Green Party candidate seeking election to the U.S. Senate from Ohio. He lost in the general election.[1]


DeMare has a B.S. in English and a Master's in teaching English.[2]


DeMare works full time as a machinist at an industrial ceramics plant in Perrysburg, Ohio.[2] He has also worked as a writer, starting an internet publishing site with a friend.[2]

DeMare ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Ohio. He won the Green Party Primary on March 6, 2012. DeMare faced incumbent Sherrod Brown, Josh Mandel (R), and John Fockler (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3] Brown won.[1]


DeMare and his wife of 26 years, Carolyn, have 2 sons. [2]
