Joseph Keaveny is a Democratic member of the Missouri State Senate, representing District 4. He was first elected to the chamber in a special election held on November 3, 2009. In the 2013 session, Keaveny serves as Minority Caucus Chair.


He earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and master's degree in Finance and J.D. from St. Louis University.

On November 2, 2010 Keaveny won re-election to the Missouri State Senate. He faced James Long in the primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[1]

On November 3, 2009, Keaveny won a special election for the 4th District seat in the Missouri State Senate. He was unopposed. The special election was held to fill the remained of the unexpired term of Jeff Smith, who resigned on August 25, 2009.[2]
