Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr. has been a Republican member of the New Jersey Senate, representing District 13. He was first elected to the chamber in 1992. Kyrillos has served as the Chairman for the New Jersey Republican State Committee and Senate's Republican Conference Leader.[1]

Biography

Kyrillos graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Hobart College. He later received a M.S. in Communications from Boston University.[2] Kyrillos is a Commercial Real Estate Broker for GVA Williams.

Kyrillos ran for U.S. Senate in 2012.[7] He defeated Bader Qarmout, Joe Rullo, and David Douglas Brown in the June 5 Republican primary. He lost to Democratic incumbent Bob Menendez in the general election.[8][9][10]

Kyrillos won re-election to the District 13 State Senate seat in the 2011 election. He was unopposed in the June 7 Republican primary. Kyrillos defeated Stephen Boracchia (I), Mac Dara Lyden (I), and Karen Anne Zaletel (I) in the general election which took place on November 8, 2011. [11]
