Joseph Lentol (b. January 15, 1943) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 50 since 1973. Lentol was also a member of the Brooklyn Assembly Delegation.

Lentol is an assistant district attorney for Kings County.

Lentol earned a BA from the University of Dayton and a JD from Baltimore University School of Law.[1]

Best ran unopposed in the Republican primary; he is also running on the Conservative Party ticket. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012. [2]
