Joseph D. Morelle (b. April 29, 1957) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 136. He was first elected to the chamber in 1990. As of the 2013 session, Morelle serves as Majority Leader.

He previously represented District 132 in the Assembly from 1991 to 2013. Morelle's political experience includes being a New York Appointee for the Council of Young Political Leaders; a county legislator for Monroe County; and a leader of the Irondequoit Democratic Committee.

Biography

Morelle earned his B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo. His professional experience includes being the President and Chief Executive Officer of MMI Technologies, Incorporated, and serving as an administrator at the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center.[1]
