He announced his decision not to un in the following release: "The past few weeks have been a whirlwind since Congressman Petri announced his retirement. It has been very uplifting hearing from citizens all across the 6th Congressional District who called, sent e-mails, or ran into me at a coffee shop – all encouraging me in one way or another.
