||Shall up to 2.9 mills be levied on all taxable property in the Village of Kalkaska for a period of three (3) years (2013-2015) for the purpose of operating and equipping the police department of the village of Kalkaska?
This is a new millage. It would amount to $2.90 per thousand dollars of the taxable value of a property.
If approved and levied in full, this new millage will raise an estimated $147,626.34 in the first year it was levied (2013).
By law, a portion of this Village police millage will be distributed to the Village of Kalkaska Downtown Development Authority which captures property taxes.
