The Kansas Boat Property Tax Amendment may appear on the 2012 ballot in the state of Kansas as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. The measure would allow the state's property tax on boats to be altered. It was proposed during 2012 state legislative session. A similar measure was on the 2000 statewide ballot, but was rejected with 50.7% of voters against it.[1]

Path to ballot

A 2/3rds vote in both chambers of the Kansas State Legislature is required to refer an amendment to the ballot. If the legislature approves of the amendment, the measure would appear on the November 2012 general election.
