The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Janet Duprey defeated Karen M. Bisso in the Republican primary. Duprey ran on the Independence Party of New York State and Bisso ran on the Conservative Party ticket. Duprey defeated Bisso (C) in the general election.[3][4][5]
