Karen McConnaughay is a Republican senator-elect of the Illinois State Senate.

McConnaughay serves as Chairman of the Kane County Board. She was first elected to this position in 2004, with her current term expiring on November 30, 2012.[1]

McConnaughay won election in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 33. McConnaughay defeated Cliff Surges in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012 and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4][5]
