Karim Camara is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 43. He was first elected to the chamber after he won a special election in November 2005.

Biography

Camara attended Wesley Theological Seminary, Fordham University, and Alfred University. He earned his B.A. in English Literature and Chemistry from Xavier University and a M.Div from New York Theological Seminary. [1]

His professional experience includes working as a congressional intern for United States Representative Major Owens, as a director of institutional advancement for Cush Campus Schools, as an employee of the American Red Cross of Greater New York, as a student intern, as an assistant pastor and as an executive pastor of the First Baptist Church of Crown Heights.
