A Kasson Township Fire Levy Increase measure will be on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Kasson, which is in Leelanau County.
This measure seeks to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $.75 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of three years in order to further pay for fire and emergency medical services in the township.

The question on the ballot:
|| Shall Kasson Township impose an increase of up to .75 mills ($0.75 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for a period of three years (3) years, 2012 through 2014, inclusive, for the purpose of providing fire department and emergency medical service (EMS) funding for Kasson Township, which contracts with other local units of government, at the Township Board's discretion, to provide such fire and EMS services. The .75 mill increase will raise an estimated $64,000 in the first year the millage is levied.
