Kathie Glass was a Libertarian candidate for Governor of Texas in the 2014 elections.

Glass was also the Libertarian candidate for Governor of Texas in 2010.

Glass stated that she was the only candidate in the race who would take effective action to protect Texas sovereignty through the use of nullification and secure the border using the Texas State Guard.[1]


Glass was born in Buford, Georgia. She moved to Texas in 1977, and began her involvement in the Libertarian Party in 1978. She served on the Texas Libertarian Party state executive committee from 1982 to 1984. She has practiced law in Houston.[1]

Political career

Glass served on the Texas Libertarian Party state executive committee from 1982 to 1984. She ran as the Libertarian candidate for Attorney General of Texas in 1982 and for Governor of Texas in 2010.[1]

Glass ran for election to the office of Governor of Texas. Glass sought the Libertarian nomination in the primary.[2] The general election took place November 4, 2014.

Glass's father worked for General Motors and her mother worked as a school secretary. Glass was the first person in her family to go college. She is married to Tom Glass, and they have two children, Courtney Ayn and Branden. They live in Houston, Texas.[1]
