Kathleen Horgan was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 11 of the New Jersey General Assembly.

Horgan was a candidate for District 11 of the New Jersey General Assembly. She was defeated in the November 8 general election. She replaced Marilyn Schlossbach on the Democratic ticket after Schlossbach withdrew from the race.[1] Horgan was bracketed with Vin Gopal (D).

Caroline Casagrande and Mary Pat Angelini ran unopposed in the Republican primary. In addition, Daniel Jacobson ran for the seat as an Independent.[2]

District 11 was reshaped to become a minority opportunity district. While NJSpotlight predicts a win for the GOP ticket, PolitickerNJ notes that the Asbury Park Press endorsement of Vin Gopal (D) may increase hwas chances of election. Jennifer Beck (R) and Caroline Casagrande (R) were also endorsed--APP declined to endorse Horgan (D), Raymond Santiago (D) and Mary Pat Angelini (R). In addition, the Democratic challengers in District 11 have raised over $100,000.[3][4]
