Kathy McCoy
From Ballotpedia
Kathy McCoy represents legislative district 22 in the New Mexico House of Representatives. Her district includes parts of Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Santa Fe counties.[1]
Transparency advocacy
After Larry Larranaga introduced House Bill 554 appropriating money for a transparency website, Mrs. McCoy made sure that the Department of Finance and Administration felt $500,000 would be sufficient to create and operate the website. The DFA agreed that $500,000 would be enough through fiscal year 2008. Subsequently, McCoy introduced House Bill 993, calling for the creation of the website and assuring the support of the DFA.[2]
House Bill 993 was also referred to three house committees for consideration, the House Health and Government Affairs Committee, the House Taxation and Revenue Committee, and the House Appropriations and Finance Committee. It passed unanimously (8-0) in the House Health and Government Affairs Committee. However, similar to Larranaga's HB554, McCoy's bill was "postponed indefinitely" in the House Taxation and Revenue Committee.[3]
