Katrina Shankland is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 71. She was first elected to the chamber in 2012.


Shankland attended Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2009. She currently works as a fellow for the Progressive Change Campaign.

Shankland won election in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 71. She defeated Laura Hauser-Menting, Corey Ladick, Tom Mallison, Jerry McGinley, Hans Schmid, Andrew Beveridge, Robert Steinke, and David Verhage in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012. Patrick Testin ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Incumbent Democrat Louis Molepske, Jr. did not run for re-election. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
