Ken Ito is a Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing the 48th District since 1995. He has served as a House Majority Whip since 2011.

Ito served as Hawaii Department of Education Vocational Technical Resource Teacher in the Honolulu District Office from 1987-1994, public school teacher at Kalani High School from 1970-1987, and in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966.

Ito is involved with many organizations, including the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Association for Career and Technical Education, "Arts in Public Places" Committee at Ben Parker Elementary School, Ben Parker Elementary School Parent Teacher Association, Castle High School Alumni and Community Association, Castle High School Parent Partnership, and is a Major in the Civil Air Patrol.[1]

Ito is running in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 49. Ito is running unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 11, 2012. Incumbent Democrat Pono Chong is running for re-election in District 48. No Republican has filed to run for this seat. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012.[2]

Ito won re-election to the 48th District Seat in 2010. Ito defeated Jason Pascua in the September 18 primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Mo Radke ran on the Republican ticket for this seat.[3]
