Gordon won election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Twenty-First Middlesex District. He was selected as the Democratic candidate after the previous candidate, Charles Murphy, withdrew following the September 6 primary and defeated Walter Zenkin (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
