Kent Conrad (b. March 12, 1948) is a Democratic member of the U.S. Senate from the state of North Dakota. Conrad was first elected to the Senate in 1986.

Based on an analysis of bill sponsorship by GovTrack, Conrad is a "centrist Democrat".[1]

Conrad is not running for re-election in 2012.[2] Four candidates are running in the June 12, 2012 primary.[3]

Conrad is not running for re-election in 2012. Heidi Heitkamp and Tom Potter are seeking the Democratic nomination in the June 12, 2012 primary. Rick Berg and Duane Sand are seeking the Republican nomination.


On November 7, 2006, Conrad won re-election to the United States Senate. He defeated Dwight Grotberg, Roland Riemers, and James Germalic in the general election.[5]
