Two Kentwood & Wyoming Charter Amendment measures will be on the May 4, 2010 ballot in the cities of Kentwood and Wyoming which are in Kent County.

The Kentwood charter amendment seeks to change the amount of tax revenues allocated to the fire and police services in the city. The increase would be by 2 mills, for a total of 6.25 mills.

The Wyoming charter amendment seeks to add a provision that would designate 1.25 mills to the maintenance and operation of public safety entities in the city. The tax would need to be renewed every five years.[1]
