Biography
In 1984, she founded a Las Vegas-based accounting firm, D K Wallin, Ltd., and is still president of the firm. In 2006, Wallin defeated incumbent Steve Martin to become Nevada Controller.
Wallin is currently a member of the XBRL International Public Sector Work Group, a member of the AGA Partnership for Intergovernmental Management and Accountability Steering Committee and is a Director on the NASC Executive Committee.[2]
Education
Wallin graduated from UNLV with a degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting.[1][3]
Political career
Nevada Controller (2006-Present)
Wallin is the current Nevada Controller. She was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010.[1]
Elections
2014
Wallin is barred by term limits from seeking re-election in 2014, and will likely run for the office of Nevada Treasurer.[4] when current treasurer, Democrat Kate Marshall will seek the office of Nevada Secretary of State. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014.
