Kirk Caldwell (b. September 4, 1952) is the current Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Caldwell served in the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 24 from 2002 to 2008 and serving as Majority Leader from 2006 to 2008. In January 2009, Caldwell was appointed the Managing Director for the City and County of Honolulu.[1]


Caldwell earned his B.A. in Economics from Tufts University in 1971 and his J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law. His professional experience includes working for the law practice of Ashford and Wriston, LLP, in the office of U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye and as Clerk for former Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court Williams Richardson.[1]


Caldwell and his wife, Donna Tanoue, have a daughter, Maya. They live in Manoa, HI.
