A Knox County School Sales Tax Increase measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Knox County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 122 (52.59%)Approveda
  • NO 110 (47.41%)[1]

This measure sought to add one cent to the current county sales tax rate, from 6.5 to 7.5 percent. The money generated from this tax increase will go towards the five school districts in the county, based on how many students are enrolled. The schools will be able to use the money for either school facility improvement projects or paying off previous bond debts that had helped with other school facility improvements.[2]
