Kristine Fiegen (September 17, 1962 in Sioux Falls, SD) is a current Republican commissioner of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission. She was first appointed to the position by Governor Dennis Daugaard on August 9, 2011 to fill a vacancy on the commission. She was elected to serve the remaining four years of the six year term in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]

Biography

Fiegen was raised near Chancellor, South Dakota. Prior to her appointment to the commission, she was the president of Junior Achievement of South Dakota for 17 years, served as South Dakota area manager for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for nine years, and as a sales representative for Monsanto Company.

Fiegen is also a former representative in the South Dakota House of Representatives. She served from 1993 - 2001, and was the chair of the House Health and Human Service Committee.[2]

Fiegen won election to a partial term on the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission in 2012. She was officially nominated at the state Republican convention in June and[4] defeated Matt McGovern (D) and Russell Clarke (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[5]
