Kurt Swaim is a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 94th District since 2003.

Swaim has been an Attorney in Private Practice since 1981. He previously worked as Senior Staff Attorney for the Legal Services Corporation of Iowa from 1978-1981, and an Attorney for Lundy, Butler, Wilson & Hall from 1975-1978.

He is a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, and President/Treasurer of the Lions Club Masons.[1]

Swaim is running for re-election to the 94th District Seat in 2010 against James F. Johnson (R). Swaim had no opposition in the Democratic primary. The general election takes place on November 2, 2010.


On November 4, 2008, Swaim was re-elected to the 94th District Seat in the Iowa House of Representatives, defeating Howard E. Hubbard (R). [2] Swaim raised $32,810 for his campaign, while Hubbard raised $0. [3]
