Swaim has been an Attorney in Private Practice since 1981. He previously worked as Senior Staff Attorney for the Legal Services Corporation of Iowa from 1978-1981, and an Attorney for Lundy, Butler, Wilson & Hall from 1975-1978.
He is a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, and President/Treasurer of the Lions Club Masons.
